Laura Dillabaugh

MS, LPC, BCC

Masters in Clinical Counseling

Licensed Professional Counselor

Board Certified Life Coach

I am passionate about helping people navigate relationship issues, life transitions, grief and loss, pregnancy/postpartum issues, as well as working with the military population on issues related to deployment and marriage/relationships. My style is warm and collaborative, and my specialty is CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - where we will restructure and reframe unhelpful or untrue thoughts that are holding you back).

My counseling approach is nondirective, which means that I will meet you in a nonjudgmental way, listen to what you would like help with, and work with you to set realistic and attainable goals. We’ll explore what matters most to you - we will even laugh sometimes. (Therapy doesn’t have to be heavy all the time!)

Life is unpredictable! We all need someone who will listen, motivate, and challenge us when appropriate, and I will do that for you. Every individual needs to find a way to cope with the ups, downs, and unpredictable circumstances in their lives. I will work with you to discover and understand your triggers and help you establish healthy coping skills to live a more fulfilled and productive life. I have a seven-year background working as a counselor; I have also supervised other counselors in training and I both teach and use trauma focused cognitive behavior therapy and solution-focused brief therapy.

As both a Certified Life Coach and Registered Psychotherapist, I'll meet you where you are in a nonjudgmental way to help you to find new perspectives / insights that you can apply to your daily life. At times we can get lost in figuring out how to navigate the difficulties in our lives, feeling stuck in old thought patterns and habits that no longer serve us, which can feel painful and frustrating. If you’re feeling stuck in something, like things are harder than they should be and you’re not feeling quite like yourself, you’ve come to the right place to get back on track. I can help facilitate change at your pace, without judgment.  I view therapy as an interactive process; I offer a collaborative approach that works with your preferences for how you like to be supported.

I use a variety of treatment modalities, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and IFS (Internal Family Systems) - where I help you to identify and accept the different parts of yourself as we work to heal the parts that have been wounded.

  • Anxiety
